Experience Life on the Farm

At our family-friendly farm near Merano, you can experience authentic farm life and discover the daily routines of a working dairy farm. Every morning at 5:00 a.m., the lights come on in the barn and a new day begins. Farmer Daniel and farmer Christine take care of the animals, complete the morning chores, and milk the cows. Around 6:30 a.m., the Merano Dairy collection truck arrives to pick up the fresh milk.

Enjoy relaxing days at our peacefully located farm near Merano and experience nature, animals, and genuine farm life up close – a memorable holiday for the whole family.

Our animals at our farm

Animals

Our farm is home to cows, young cattle, calves, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and cats. Our animals always enjoy curious visitors and plenty of cuddles.

Barn Visits

Every evening at around 6:00 p.m., we warmly invite you to visit the barn and experience everyday life on a traditional South Tyrolean mountain farm. You’re welcome to help feed the animals, take a look behind the scenes, and even taste our freshly milked milk.

Our Farm Products

Our guests can enjoy a variety of lovingly prepared products made right here at Untermathon Hof. The ingredients come directly from our farm, are harvested by us, and are carefully transformed by farmer Christine into delicious fruit preserves and homemade syrups.
We also have a small farm shop where you can purchase our homemade specialties, including:

  • fresh milk
  • fresh eggs from our hens
  • various homemade fruit spreads
  • various homemade syrups
  • herb salt
  • pickled vegetables

You can also order a traditional South Tyrolean Marende (hearty snack platter), prepared with farm-made bacon*, Kaminwurzen* (smoked sausages), cheese, farm-grown potatoes*, Vinschger Paarl bread, Schüttelbrot, homemade pickled vegetables*. (*Produced at Untermathon Hof)

Herbal salt

Try our aromatic, homemade herbal salt, you can easily refine your dishes and take a piece of farm flavor home with you.

Pickled vegetables

Sour makes you happy! You can also taste and purchase pickled vegetables such as pickled cucumbers or other vegetables in jars.
